Who do you impact?

In part one we discussed what impact actually means.  We defined impact and came to see that we all impact, or, influence, someone.  Now, you may say, I don’t “feel” like I impact anyone but it doesn’t matter one little bit how you feel.
The reality is, you are always being watched.  Does that make you feel a bit paranoid?  Well don’t feel paranoid, because usually people really only care about themselves and their wants and needs, it’s just human nature. BUT just know that you are being watched.

I know that in my own life people will make comments about something I said or did and I have no recollection of saying that particular comment, but I know I did because those comments are in my DNA.

And frankly, if someone says that I said something that I didn’t think I said I’m going to take that as a wake-up call to pay more attention to my words. (That, however, is another discussion!)

Here’s the clincher:  we need to be mindful at all times that we impact and influence others, and that others impact and influence us.  Think of the song from childhood that says “be careful little eyes what you see; be careful little ears what you hear; be careful little tongue what you say”.

We must be diligent in creating a life beyond reproach. Design your life in such a way that your business rises to the level of your life. And as a Christian, that level should be one that reflects Kingdom standards and honors God in every way.

As Matthew 5:14-16 reminds us, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
