Build Your Business & The Kingdom The Build It Broadcast: Episode 3DOWNLOAD The "Impact & Influence Assessment" HERE How and why do you impact others – and what are your motives behind it? As we continue our conversation about the impact we have on others, let’s look at the why and the how of impact and influence. We’ll also discuss the motives that are behind the why and how! Let me ask you a question:
When you’re in a group, are you mindful of what you’re saying, how you’re acting and the example you’re portraying? Take, for instance, going out to dinner with friends and having a beer. Now, I’m not here to tell you that you shouldn’t drink. That’s between you and God. I will suggest, however, that whether it’s a drink, or another habit that may be seen by others as not so Christ-like, we do impact others by what we do and say! I would venture to say that most extremely successful people are very mindful of what they say and do in public because it reflects on them, their beliefs, and the friends and business associates they are around. This is also a good point to stress that we must operate our lives from the right motives. If you’re chasing money, odds are you’ll be chasing it your entire life. When you want to create and behave in a way that serves others and chase Jesus instead of money you will have everything that you need. For those naysayers out there – reach out to us. We can tell you some stories of how we’ve been taken care of through thick and thin as long as we keep our eyes on Christ. I love this quote by Darren Hardy: “You alone are responsible for what you do, don’t do, or how you respond to what’s done to you.” In Proverbs 23:4 we see the admonishment "Don't wear yourself out to get rich; stop giving your attention to it.” (HCSB) To further tell us how God feels about our motives and the way we impact others let’s look at Hebrews 13:16: “We will show mercy to the poor and not miss an opportunity to do acts of kindness for others, for these are the true sacrifices that delight God’s heart.” (TPT) Such amazing wisdom is found in God’s word! There is no need to go anywhere else for answers! I encourage you to work daily to “delight God’s heart”. Thank you so much for joining us today!
